The Coming of Lilith Illustrated interprets an extract from Judith Plaskow’s collected essays on feminism, Judaism and sexual ethics. Readers are invited to interact with the text using colour filters. This reveals or obscures copy and aims to provoke new ways of connecting to its meaning.
The project reflects my intellectual and design interests in culture and folklore, relations between traditional and modern themes, feminism and LGBTQ+ culture. I have a deep interest in fusing the capabilities and techniques of formal design with illustration. I love the way considered design can shape the very essence of imagery.
I aim to make work that has the foundations of solid design and appealing visuals to engage both designers and illustrators.
